The fact that the bamboo-Guadua offers cost advantages is one of the main reasons to use it again as construction material in Colombia, however Bamboo as a construction material, has a future only if two conditions are met:
1 -The houses of Guadua must correspond to the requirements of its inhabitants in terms of aesthetics and prestige.
2 -House-dwellers must restore confidence in traditional construction systems.

The main aim by the size extention of these modest bungalow was to preserve the qualities and style of the existing building.
The building do not have air-condition. Verandas supply shade, while lattice windows arranged at them allow ligth to penetrate the rooms.
The verandas and the wooden terrace which is partially covered by a pergola, become in effect the main living areas.
Eco- progressive building - Colombia 2006
Different variants of low-tech solutions for wood construction as a minimalist design (square-optimum- effective). This modular system implicates the usage of advanced framing techniques, composites materials and FSC-certified lumber.
This proposal for a low-cost housing in modular construction system, using bamboo in combination with holz and clay, tried to create an alternative architecture affordable and socially acceptable.
The ecological concept focuses on communal living and optimum use of traditional crafts and technologies. (Basket-weaving, bahareque construction).
The external appearence of this design reminds a basket. The construction is done by hand.
All the biological building materials are locally harvested. They are recyclable and sustainable.
Eco-synergetic design, Colombia 1988
The four storeys building is an integral part of the project "Bamboo further research center - CCB" in Colombia.
It forms the core of a design focusing on architectonic systems using renewable resources.
Each storey demonstrates one different constructive solution based on the use of natural materials -Bamboo, wood, clay- and on the principle of recycling.

In a plot of limited surface arises this three-story design consist of two independent dwellings separated by small private open spaces (patio-terraces).
The floor plan is structured along the longitudinal axis.
An elongated house with narrow front provided with exterior spaces, such as the balcony adjoining the living room on the second floor, the patio-garden at the back and the terrace on the roof.
The Bamboo structure of the roof is the dominating element of this building.
Rural Building with Bamboo - Colombia 2012
An experimental-eco neighborhood of twenty low-cost living units for students with communal facilities was planed to be built under the "do-it-yourself" principle.
The arrangement of the blocks was designed to harmonise with the natural beauty of the bleak landscape.
The buildings would be made utilizing various modernized techniques of building with earth.
The main aim of project was the practice of an ecological architecture, deliberately built using only local resources as wood, stone, raw-earth and clay.

The architectural complex is defined by three buildings: tower, ramp and bridge.
The styling of the multi-purpose building as a ellipse-shaped ramp was guided by local landscape determinants, location and simplification of design.
It symbolizes "The road", the way -step by step- to develop a regional sustainable, high-performance and ultra-economic technology using innovative combination of new materials, structural design and ecological processes.

This detached house planned in a narrow, sloping plot of land in the outskirts of the village, ist minimalist yet spatially complex.
The dominating element of this building, the enormous slanting green roof appears to float above the exciting bamboo support structure.
Ecology and sustainability were the starting point for the design.
Green Building - Colombia 2006
This three storeys house rises above a coffee farming and was designed with local seismic conditions in mind. (Earthquake resistant building).
The intention of the project was to revive the use of economical traditional local materials and construction type in the region.
The home is built around a reinforce concrete shaft that elevates throughout the whole construct, so that stabilizes the bamboo - frame structure.
It forms the central element containing the staircase, the WC rooms and an indoor pool.
In the subfloor space there is a tank to collect rain water. On the upper floors some fixed elements function as furniture.
